Project Description

Trade show graphics are some of our favorite challenges because they have so many important purposes! If done correctly, a trade show animation will draw in potential customers from across the room and provide just enough information to make them hungry for more. These graphics serve simultaneously as ice breakers and sales tools to the team manning booth. Once its week of glory is over, these become valuable collateral for social media channels and blog posts for our clients.

This particular marketing piece was a huge hit for our clients, Fracture ID, at URTeC 2018! This startup company of about 40 employees had booth graphics comparable only to Haliburton, which allowed them the competitive edge they needed to stand out among their booth neighbors. We even had a hard time squeezing in a quick “hello!” upon visiting them at the convention, there were so many people at the booth!

Our Process

Creativity works best when it follows a rigid, scientific process. It sounds crazy, but each new animation that we create is simultaneously the first and thousandth time we've done it. Let us break it down.


We started by collaborating closely with the super smart team at Fracture ID to fully understand their video goals and target audience. Storyboarding was a critical step, where we hand-illustrated frames to map out the flow and visuals. From there, we transitioned into 3D animation, using dynamic visuals to simplify complex geophysical data. This creative process ensures that the final product not only stops people from walking past their booth at OTC, but also effectively communicates Fracture ID’s innovative technology as an evergreen marketing and sales tool.
