By employing abstract, metaphor-driven visuals, we effectively showcased SLB’s advanced industrial solutions, aligning seamlessly with their new brand identity. This compelling content is ideal for product demonstrations and impactful trade show presentations.

The Project
Wellheads and wellhead technology are not new. SLB asked us to come up with a story that reintroduces a product that people think they’re familiar with. Wellheads are so prevalent that they can be taken for granted and overlooked. SLB wanted to remind its audience that it makes wellheads, and it makes wellheads better.
There is a strong use of metaphorical visuals in this animation, including themes like data transfer, the passage of time, smart technology, various environments, etc.
Our goal for this story was to find ways of incorporating these advancements in an unexpected way. You don’t have to show 1’s and 0’s to indicate digital, or a clock to show passage of time, and you don’t have to be literal about everything. Your audience is smarter than that and they expect to be as entertained as they are informed.
Essentially, we are telling a well-known story in a way that customers have never heard before.

This was SLB’s first post-rebrand animation, which immersed them in a much more abstract and monochromatic landscape than their previous brand. Our challenge was to forge a new motion language for their content moving forward in this new direction, using color and sound strategically to emphasize key points.
