With a technical animation, you can show what has never been done before.

When Amerapex Corporation invented Hexis – an automated heating tube cleaning and inspection system – it was groundbreaking. It was lightyears better than the current solutions, but people needed to see how it worked before they would buy it.

A technical animation was the most effective way, maybe even the only way (realistically), to let people experience it.

The Problem

Industrial operations use a large portion of the budget to maintain and turn around heat exchange tubes. The massive bundles of tubes need to be restored to their before-use condition to be used again. The status-quo consisted of packs of crews that would pressure wash the heating tube bundles by hand. The process was time consuming, labor intensive and prone to mistakes and safety issues.

The Solution

Amerapex invented Hexis to solve all of these issues in one shot. Hexis would be the first of its kind, an all-in-one cleaning and inspection system that could wash, dry and inspect masses of long tubes in a fraction of the time. What used to be separate processes that could cause massive delays in production, was now completed in one fell swoop. This automated system was also significantly safer and greatly reduced human error.

A game-changing solution and an unaware market.

That’s where Motion Giraffx came in with our technical animation superpowers. Amerapex’s novel, intricate and life-changing solution needed a high-end, technical 3D animation to drive home its impact.

A technical 3D animation can explore concepts that are challenging, impossible, or not realistic to try to capture for a marketing video. For example, in its process, Hexis uses electromagnetics to inspect heating tubes by inducing eddy currents into the pipes to detect flaws. Animation is literally the only way to show that.

Through this technical animation, Amerapex gained control over the story behind their solution. From start to finish, they showed their customers the WHY and the HOW. They allowed their customers to imagine their big industrial problems relieved by one solution.
